First and foremost:
Where to find me: Here, obviously. I'm merriman over on AO3 and merrimanlyon on Discord. I like to keep things as consistent as possible.

Thank you for offering something I requested! Yuletide truly is one of my favorite things and I'm always so thrilled to see what someone else has in mind for the bitty little (and maybe not so bitty) fandoms I've requested. Treats are always welcome, though never expected.

Secondly, let's talk generalities: (this bit stolen from previous years' letters)
When it comes to rating, I am not picky. I'll be just as happy with a gen story as with smut and vice versa. Don't try and force a sex scene into a story if it's just not going there for you and don't try to keep it all-audiences if things are heating up. As well, I am perfectly good with slash, femslash, het, poly of any type, when it comes to relationships and pairings. Write what works for the characters and for you so long as it doesn't hit one of the DNWs below.

I am such a sucker for backstory and continuing stories, seeing what happened before we met the character(s) or after the end of the canon. Missing scenes are great too, but you can always get me with some pre or post-canon.

I love angst in stories, but I also like my angst to be resolved by the end of the story. I'm not asking for everything to be super happy funtime with kittens and roses and party balloons, but I'd like some resolution to whatever problem comes up.

As for my DNW list, here goes:
Non-con/dub-con/rape
Pregnancy
Kidfic
Mpreg
ABO
Incest
Underage sex
Cannibalism (of the sexual and non-sexual varieties)
Sex involving bodily fluids other than the norm, and human waste of any kind
In fact, please keep any sex on the non-kinky end of things
Non-canon character death
I'm good with different POVs, but I'd prefer to get plain prose as a format - I'm not into IF, video, poetry, drabble sets, etc. for these requests.

Thirdly, now for specifics:

1. The Changeover - Margaret Mahy
Characters: Laura Chant, Sorenson Carlisle

Why Do I Love This: I read this as a teen and immediately wished I could do what Laura does in the book, but of course it's a coming-of-age fantasy story, so not entirely possible. Still, I have always loved the magic in the book and the softness of it while still containing danger.

Request: This is one of my favorite books of my youth. The nature-related magic system, the complicated relationships between all of the characters (Laura and Sorry included), and the story of growing up and into oneself all spoke to me. I would love to see something either just post-book or years in the future. Maybe there's another challenge to face, or there's a reason Laura was able to changeover in the first place.

Additional Prompts:
* Magic through photos that Sorry has taken
* Laura spends more time with Sorry's family

2. Jane Unlimited - Kristin Cashore

Characters: Jane, Aunt Magnolia

Why Do I Love This: I have always been a sucker for stories told in unconventional ways, so a book that unfolds like this one, with different genres and perspectives, drew me in immediately. I especially love how each new path reveals more and more of what is going on in the house (and out of it).

Request: This book was so much fun! I've always been a sucker for AUs and varying perspectives of a single story, but the real draw for me was how everything was still happening, regardless of whether Jane followed that path or not. The library is gothic horror with or without her, etc. I would love to see another genre following something we didn't see, or an extension of one of the paths we did see.

Additional Prompts:
* Aunt Magnolia's perspective or how it began for her
* Jane doesn't go to the island but ends up there anyhow

3. The Avengers (TV 1961)

Characters: John Steed, Emma Peel

Why Do I Love This: Another formative piece of media for me. I told my mother I wanted to be Emma Peel when I grew up. Alas, I am not British and I am 5'4" so that's not going to happen. I can dream, though! I love the banter and silliness mixed in with the serious in so many of the plots, as well as the many and varied skills both Emma and Steed have.

Request: I love both of these characters, together or solo, so an adventure for either or both would be fantastic. I adore the slightly sci-fi nature of so many of the episodes, but also the humor and banter. A "missing episode" would always be fun, or a non-work interaction. I don't really ship Steed and Emma beyond their flirtatious tension, but I'm also not opposed to a little romance.

Additional Prompts:
* Emma Peel takes a day off (it's definitely not a day off)
* Emma and Steed each approach a case from different starting points

4. The Prisoner (1967)

Characters: Number Six, Number Two, Rover

Why Do I Love This: What a weird fucking show. I've always loved how slightly unhinged everything is in the Village, and how most of the people there just seem to run with it. I love the ever-changing Number Two position. I love Rover. And most of all I love that there's an ever-present attitude from Number Six that this is all a game he WILL eventually win. My very favorite episode is Hammer Into Anvil, followed closely by the first, last, and penultimate episodes.

Request: Oh how I adore this weird-ass show. The eerie nature of the Village, the numbers, the cheery "good morning, good morning!" over the radio every day, Rover, etc. I especially love the mind games Six plays with everyone and the mind games that the Village plays with everyone there, him in particular. I would love to see more of that, or ditch him and focus on Rover. What's going on inside that big white bubble?

Additional Prompts:
* Number swap! Everyone Number Six thought he knew in the Village has swapped numbers except him.
* Rover speaks and it's very unnerving
* Rover goes rogue?
